Inside Technical Sales/ Customer Service Representative

ABI LTD, is a fast growing equipment manufacturing company, located in Vaughan, Ontario. We specialize in providing cutting edge automation solutions to our world-wide food processing customers. Our products include Automated Material Handling, Dough Processing and Conveyor Systems.  We are currently seeking a Dynamic Individual to fill a position of a “Inside Technical Sales/ Customer Service Representative”.  The scope of duties for this position include Sales of Parts and Service to our clients

Successful candidate must:

  • Possess Mechanical or Electrical  Engineering background (C.E.T.) or equivalent experience
  • Be fluent in English, both spoken and written 
  • Have 3 years industrial sales and/or customer service experience
  • Possess Solid knowledge of Machinery and Components
  • Be familiar with  AutoCAD and Auto-Desk Inventor
  • Be computer literate - Word, Excel, MRP, CAD software
  • Be able to work as part of a team or on your own, with minimum supervision
  • Be thorough, attentive and detail oriented
  • Be able to effectively communicate with the Customers, Management and Design Team
  • Possess excellent organizational skills  and be able to prioritize work
  • Possess curious telephone manner and communication skills
  • Maintain positive attitude

 Duties:

  • Respond to Customer enquiries by providing relevant information in timely fashion
  • Offer technical recommendations as required
  • Liaise between engineering, production and customers to insure timely deliveries
  • Coordinate service calls and liaise with service people and customers
  • In cooperation with the Engineering department prepare Equipment Manuals and develop essential spare parts lists

 


Sales Representative

As a highly successful Sales Representative with experience in one of the following industries:

Industrial bakery equipment
Industrial food processing
Bottling plant equipment
Pharmaceutical equipment
Packaging Equipment
Material Handling 
Conveyors

You will have the senior selling skills required to develop the Canadian market for a company specializing in sales of Industrial Bakery Equipment. You have a true passion for sales and are technically competent to understand and to deliver to customers the intricacies of technological solutions our company offers.

Your professional sales approach is proven by your previous track record.
You are able equally well to canvas and to close the sale. As a self starter, your time management skills are exceptional and allow you to balance the interaction with customers both on a long distance and in a face to face manner.  Travel and Expense budgets, managing pricing, discounts, along with the administration of the necessary paperwork involved in your day to day functions are appropriately scheduled. Your primary goal is to substantially increase company sales as well as develop and manage key customer relationships in your Territory.

 

As a primary sales representative, in addition to your day to day sales activities you will be involved in Development of Sales literature, Analysis of market trends and strategic planning for product development.
Specifically your duties will include: 

  1. Identifying leads / opportunities
  2. Defining customer requirements (delivery, product prices, ect.)
  3. Working along with the Engineering Department to develop optimum solutions to the customer’s technical problems
  4. Generating New Quotes based on these solutions  
  5. Following-up, maintaining and updating sales quotation log
  6.  Keeping customers informed of status of orders, inquiries, problems, etc...
  7. Cold-calling both via phone and in person
  8. Promoting and expanding product lines by helping define developing trends.

 

You will possess:
Minimum of 5-7 years experience in sales of Industrial Bakery Equipment or related industry
A College or University degree or equivalent in either sales administration or engineering (Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical)
Excellent oral and written skills in the English language. (French, Spanish or other languages would be an asset.)
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Effective communication skills working well in group or independently with strong analytical/ problem solving skills
Dynamic personality and are a team player with the ability to work flexible hours
Ability to deal with frequent change delay or unexpected events

Remuneration will consist of base salary, commissions and car allowance The amount will commensurate with experience
